Minimizing Risk Factors for Cancer with Helayne Waldman, EdD, MS - Part Two
- Category: Webinar Archives
- Created on Tuesday, 19 May 2015
---
This presentation takes a look at the repercussions of allopathic cancer treatments and discusses strategies to minimize recurrence post treatment:
• Epigenetics at work in cancer protection
• What happens to nutrients during treatment
• Post-treatment: short term
o Repairing treatment-induced damage
o Revitalizing vital energy and nutrient status
• Post–treatment: long term
o Macronutrients to emphasize
o Micronutrients to emphasize/food sources
o Phytonutrients to emphasize/food sources
o Potentially problematic nutrients
Dr. Helayne Waldman has been investigating the relationship between cancer and nutrition since her father was diagnosed with lung cancer in the 1990's. She formalized her studies at Bauman College in 2003, and has been involved in the area of oncology nutrition full time since 2007. In 2012 Helayne published, with co-author Ed Bauman, her first book: The Whole Food Guide for Breast Cancer Survivors, which continues to be an Amazon bestseller in the category of nutrition and cancer. Helayne has a private practice in Oakland, California, where she works with clients to optimize their cancer deterrence strategies, specializing in breast cancer.
